Become a Scholarship Holder

Dear students,

In winter semester 2012/2013 the University of Bremen granted 110 so-called German scholarships (Deutschlandstipendium), each worth 300 euros per month. 38 scholarships were extended and 72 new scholarships were awarded.

The application procedure for winter semester 2013/2014 starts on 23th May 2013 and ends on 31st July 2013.

The Deutschlandstipendium is aimed at committed and talented students “who due to their past performance and vitae and in consideration of social, familial, and personal circumstances hold promise of great potential or already illustrate or have illustrated outstanding achievement in their academic studies or career”, Regulations governing the scholarship[PDF] (40 KB) of the University of Bremen.

You are eligible to apply for a Deutschlandstipendium if:

  1. You are a student of the University of Bremen and are enrolled as a regular student studying within the normal period for your particular field or course of studies, or
  2. You have received confirmation of admission/enrollment to take up studies on a program leading to the award of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree or state examination in law. (Applicants waiting for confirmation of admission or enrollment can submit such evidence at a later date up to 31.08.2013.).

The scholarship is independent of BAföG or personal means. Only students who already receive material support in respect of special talents from a public or publically supported institution in Germany or another country and in an amount of more than 30 euros per month are excluded from the application procedure.
