StudentService@School

The StudentService@School project is aimed at all the students of Bremen University. The main focus, though, is on the following target groups:

• international students (without German school education),
• Students with migration backgrounds (with German school education) and
• school children with migration background.

The project entails forming tandems comprising one German student together with a student from another country. It is run under the auspices of the International Office and supervised by academic mentors in the Faculties. The tandem teams go into partner schools in Bremen with high quotas of pupils with migrant backgrounds, where they offer various activities of basic support for both younger pupils as well as for prospective university students.

• Integration of international students within the University as well as in the town of Bremen.
• Sensitizing German students to the conditions of their own personal internationalization (not solely for stays abroad) and
• Motivating German students to participate in intercultural programs and
  Improving the study conditions for German students with migrant backgrounds and their motivation to obtain international qualifications.
