On October 24, 2011 the International Office invited former University of Bremen students, lecturers, and researchers to meet up in Shanghai. 17 of these alumni met to reminisce about their time in Bremen and discovered their common interests.< /p>

Second Bremer Alumni Meeting in Shanghai
On the evening of October 25, 2012 the Bremen Alumni in Shanghai met officially for the second time. Dr. Petra Westhaus-Ekau and Mr. Jens Kemper from the International Office welcomed all guests on behalf of the University of Bremen, and were very encouraged that so many alumni accepted their invitation. They jointly chaired the evening programme with Assoc. Prof. MAO Yanbin from Shanghai University, who is also the representative of the local alumni group.
The highlight of the get-together was the presentation by Prof. YAO Lingzhen from the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. Her talk about the central points of conflict and trends in the Chinese property market sparked a lively and interesting discussion.
All those present agreed that they would be back next year to participate in another lecture, and thanked the DAAD as well as the Bremen Liaison Office for their great support in implementing this year’s event.
