Newcomer Service

The International Office offers a Newcomer Service to all exchange students to assist them through their first stages in Bremen. At a freshers’ breakfast and introductory lectures in the orientation weeks before the courses begin, students are given details of what they need to know to find their way around the campus. These orientation weeks are organized in cooperation with the Student Erasmus Initiative.
Throughout the orientation weeks, helpful student tutors from the International Office are daily on hand at the Welcome Desk to ensure that the necessary formalities (health insurance, Semester Ticket, contact to the Center for Foreign Languages and the Faculties) are dealt with painlessly and efficiently.

This offer has recently been enhanced by the newly installed Newcomer Portal: Here, exchange students can obtain information on everything they need to know about studying as an exchange student even prior to their arrival. There is also a personal timeline listing all the things that have to be taken care of before, during, and after arrival in Bremen. This information is supplemented by important tips on student life in Bremen, e.g.
