Two-day workshop (first day: basics; second day: follow-up):

The course is designed to provide you with the necessities for development as a teacher engaged in evidence-based, theoretically-informed pedagogy and course-design. You will learn how to teach both effectively and efficiently.  
Basic concepts in education will be introduced and discussed and you will have the opportunity to explore how to apply these concepts to improve your teaching.
This course will combine applications of theory and practical strategies to help you develop more effective teaching methods and materials.
Topics will be:
•    How students learn (learning styles and motivation)
•    Building rapport with students
•    Dealing with different types of students
•    Providing constructive feedback
•    Making classes more participatory: methods for active learning/teaching
•    Learner centered course design
On the first day we will focus on the basics and how to implement them. On the second day we will focus on your hands-on experience while you have been teaching - and on further questions that might come up.
Methods
The methods focus on establishing transferable and applicable knowledge: practical exercises, case studies and written material.
Supervision via email will be provided between day one and day two.
