The EU Research Funding Program (RFP) is the world’s biggest funding program for research projects. The goal pursued by RFP is to support international and interdisciplinary projects with the objective of strengthening the scientific and technological foundations for European industry and enhancing international competitiveness as well as to create a European Research Area. The current research framework program (7th FRP) runs from 2007 till 2013 and encompasses a funding volume of 54.4 billion euros. Researchers at the University of Bremen are currently involved in 50 projects within the 7th RFP. For nine of these projects the University of Bremen acts as coordinator (status: 15.06.2012).
