Support Programs for Start-Up Entrepreneurs

BRUT Program

BRUT is the title of the Bremen economic support program for business start-ups initiated by university graduates and young professionals. BRUT is aimed at students who are about to complete their degrees, Bremen alumni, post-docs, post-docs qualified to lecture at universities [Habilitierte], research assistants and young professionals.

Successful applicants are given twelve months to advance their knowledge-based or technology oriented business concept to the point of realizing a start-up. They are supported all along the way.

The program components are:

  • Training seminars in business administration
  • Start-up coaching (group coaching, team coaching)
  • Consultation on the formulation of a business plan
  • Seed-room work stations at BITZ and the Start-Up Center Airport
  • Milestones of financial support comprising project-related assistance for living expenses
  • Grants for material costs (2,500 euros; 5,000 euros for teams)
  • Follow-up support on completion of the intensive phase

  • Preparation program comprising one-year intensive phase and subsequent one-year follow-up phase.
