On http://www.uni-bremen.de/en/search.html there are two input boxes:
The search box on top of every web-page is equivalent to "search on uni-bremen.de"
At the moment combining both searches fails due to technical obstacles. We are working on it.
An exact search term will provide accurate hits. If you are unsure about the spelling of what you search for, use a wildcard.
Type * in front, between or after the search-term to have the unknown part automatically completed.
For example:
You are searching for an employee named Bergmann or Bergemann.
Berg* will list you all Bergmanns, Bergemanns and additionally all similar names such as Berg, Bergatt... You now have a list to choose from by comparing further features such as which faculty he works for.
An asterisk (*) on the people tab of "search at uni-bremen.de" indicates that too many results for your search term were found.
For example:
You were searching for a name with sch*.
There are so many first names and last names with sch at the beginning that none of them is shown. If there are more than 150 results, you have to specify your search, for example by adding another letter: sche*.
