Das Modul "Einführung in die Linguistik" führt in die Wissenschaft von der menschlichen Sprache ein. Es umfasst die "Einführung in die Allgemeine und Vergleichende Sprachwissenschaft" (einschließlich Tutorium) im Wintersemester und die "Introduction to the Linguistics of Text and Discourse" im Sommersemester. In diesem Pflichtmodul können 9 CP (Komplementärfach: 6 CP) erworben werden.

How do sentences function together in order to create text rather than just sequences of unrelated sentences? In this course, we introduce and practice basic accounts of text structure, focusing particularly on accounts that have been developed for written texts. We will start from Theme-rheme structure as known in Systemic Functional Grammar (Eggins 2000, Thompson 2004). Next, we will investigate several different means to create cohesion, for example repetition, vocabulary chains or ellipsis. The last third of the course will be dedicated to Rhetorical Structure Theory (RST, Mann & Thompson 1988). You will learn to analyse texts together in class, as well as individually at home, using and evaluating different approaches.

Requirements
Finding and reading the texts on the different theories.
Do analyses at home and in class, partly with the support of a little software programme.
Active participation in all class work, working through texts / exercises / discussions. You are expected to attend class on a regular basis.
Students who take this class as part of the WD2 Module in the BA ESC will do an oral presentation.
Students who take this class as part of the LS1 Module in the BA Linguistics are expected to write a term paper.

Es umfasst die Veranstaltung "Einführung in die Computerlinguistik" im Wintersemester und "Sprachtechnologie mit Java" im Sommersemester. In diesem Pflichtmodul können 6 CP erworben werden.

Das Modul "Sprachstrukturen - Grammatik I" führt in die Sprachebenen Phonologie und Morphologie ein und vermittelt den Studierenden das handwerkliche Rüstzeug für den analytischen Umgang mit beliebigen Sprachdaten. Es besteht aus den Veranstaltungen "Phonologie" (Wintersemester) und "Morphologie" (Sommersemester). In diesem Pflichtmodul können 6 CP erworben werden.

Praxisphase/Auslandsaufenthalt - Abschlussmodul > LS7: Bachelorarbeit / B.A. Thesis

Für Studierende, die nach der PO 2009 studieren, entspricht das Abschlussmodul dem Modul LS 6 der PO 2009.

Das Abschlussmodul setzt sich aus der Bachelorarbeit und zwei Blockveranstaltungen zusammen. Diese Blockveranstaltungen sind das Linguistische Kolloquium und der Workshop, die zusammen 6 CP ergeben. Die erfolgreiche Teilnahme an dem Linguistischen Kolloquium und dem Workshop ist für jeden Bachelorabsolventen verpflichtend. Es gibt keine Prüfungsvorleistungen. Es müssen Teilprüfungen abgelegt werden: Für das Linguistische Kolloquium in Form eines Protokolls und für den Workshop in Form einer Präsentation (multimedial), die sich auf das Thema der Bachelorarbeit bezieht. Das Abschlussmodul findet in jedem Semester statt; das Linguistische Kolloquium und der Workshop werden jeweils als Blockveranstaltungen angeboten.
