University rowers do well in European championship

An exciting time for the University’s rowers: At the European University Rowing Championship held in Posen, Poland, they take away one European title and are two times runners up. Judith Maurer (left) and Ann-Kathrin Weber (right) win the European women’s double sculls championship in an exciting finish. Twin sisters,
Lisa und Melanie Baues, were strong runners up in the women’s coxless four, as were Cedrik Borchers, Joos Lange, Knud Lange and Sören Dannhauer in the men’s double sculls. Andre Müller came fifth in the men’s single sculls.

Prep studies: University of Bremen adopts a new approach

This winter semester the University of Bremen is adopting a new approach to prep studies for freshers: Besides the orientation week, for the first time there is the so-called “September Academy”. Freshers are able to attend over 20 project-related courses designed to whet their appetite for research topics.
