A total of 1911 students (62% women and 38% men) were enrolled at the Institute of Sociology in the winter semester of 2003/2004. Of these students, 31% chose the Diplom programme, 12% chose the BA programme, 37% chose the Magister programme with sociology as a major and 19% with sociology as a minor. There were also 13 doctorial candidates.
