Meet our Vice President Research

What does the University of Bremen do to support its postdoctoral researchers?  Will there be more tenure track options in the near future? Why are there still so many fixed-term contracts? How will the academic system in Germany develop?  How to deal with power relations and micropolitics in academia?
Time to ask Prof. Dr. Andreas Breiter, Vice President Research at the University of Bremen! Aside from this position (and his professorship in Applied Computer Science), he is a member of the board of directors of UniWIND, a network of 72 German universities dedicated to the advancement of doctoral and postdoctoral education, research, and training.
What are your burning issues as postdocs of the University of Bremen? We invite you to send your questions and topics you would like to discuss prior to Imke Girßmann, so we can prepare a talk that will cover a variety of current issues. Of course the session will also be open for your spontaneous questions. Afterwards there will be the opportunity for further discussion during lunch at Café Unique.

We are looking forward to the discussion with you and Andreas Breiter!

If you would like to participate, please send a short message to Imke Girßmann, including a note if you would like to join us for lunch (around 1:15 pm) at Café Unique.

We invite you to take part in our regular Postdoc Forum. Our goal for this series is for all Postdocs of Bremen University to share experiences and ideas with peers beyond your working group and to get in touch with guests from industry or science.
