The job market is becoming increasingly competitive - even for highly qualified academics. Global developments are affecting Germany’s economy, and ongoing digitalization continues to reshape the demand for jobs based on typical academic competencies (e.g. writing, research, and innovation).

As a result, traditional career strategies that used to lead to success are losing their relevance. Graduates now need to update both their mindset and their approach to career planning.

While core elements such as defining career goals and refining professional profiles remain essential, this workshop places a stronger emphasis on strategic flexibility. Participants will explore their openness to change with respect to geographical mobility, career goals, and timelines. They will develop alternative perspectives and concrete action plans for their next career steps.

The workshop also provides valid and up-to-date information about current labor market trends. Participants will analyze how their academic can be transferred to roles outside of Academia and will systematically assess their professional profiles.

In addition, they will receive practical resources and guidance on job search strategies and application processes, ultimately developing a personalized plan for a successful transition into a professional career.

Goals: You have developed a personal career compass and are able to strategically plan your career and job search even in these challenging economic times.
