I am a post-doctoral researcher at the Cognitive Systems Lab, building a research group in cognitive user modeling for adaptive interaction systems. In my research, I often deal with psychophysiological signals for user state detection, computational cognitive models and adaptive human-computer interfaces. This involves for example workload-adaptive or memory-adaptive dialog systems, self-correcting user interfaces on the basis of error potentials, or attenion-driven interfaces for augmented reality devices.

I am principal investigator of the DFG project DINCO, an university-funded project on "Attention-driven Interaction Systems in Augmented Reality", and act as technical coordinator for the project I-CARE.

If you are interested in working on cognitive user modeling and adaptive interaction systems as a PhD, master or bachelor student with a background in machine learning or Human-Computer Interaction, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Please consider to contribute to our workshop at the ACM ICMI 2018 on modeling cognitive states from multimodal data.

We recently completed a Frontiers Research Topic "Detection and Estimation of Working Memory States and Cognitive Functions Based on Neurophysiological Measures". It is edited by Fabien Lotte, Christian Mühl, Stephen Fairclough and myself.
