What is this session about?

Are you looking for support in applying Digital Humanities methods in your research? Would you like to further develop your skills and explore new digital approaches? Are you interested in connecting with other researchers in Bremen and Oldenburg working in Digital Humanities? Then take advantage of the wide range of support services available in Oldenburg and Bremen.

Researchers at the University of Oldenburg can turn to the Digital Humanities Service Center at the BIS Oldenburg, which offers consultations, training, and serves as a central hub for networking in the field of Digital Humanities. The Data Science Center at the University of Bremen provides individual consultations and a wide range of workshops, as well as acting as a point of contact for DH-related networking. The State and University Library Bremen offers access to digital data sources and software tools, as well as consultations on DH methods.

The talk will introduce these different service offerings. In the subsequent discussion, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, explore potential synergies, and share their needs within the Digital Humanities community in the Northwest Alliance.

Speakers:

Jonas Kaiser is the Digital Humanities specialist and Subject Librarian for Art, Material Culture, and Media at the Library and Information System (BIS) Oldenburg.

Nele Fuchs is a data scientist for the digital humanities and qualitative research in the BMFTR-funded project “DataNord” at the Data Science Center (DSC) at the University of Bremen. She offers consulting services and a wide range of workshops.
