Skin wound physiology and pathophysiology, scarring, wound models, biomaterials, translational medicine


Main research interests

  • Biomedical processes in normal and aberrant skin wound healing, contraction and scarring
  • Impact of Matrix Metalloproteinases
    • in wound repair of various tissues (e.g. skin, intestine, peritoneum)
    • for migration and cell-cell interaction
    • for cellular contractility
