Airbus and Bremen University have formed a close and prosperous partnership over the decades, for instance in the research of sustainable materials, of fuel behaviour at zero gravity or in the development of fuel-saving aircraft designs. The results achieved by institutes such as IFAM, IWT, ZARM or DFKI are making major contributions to the further development of our products. At the EcoMaT research centre, this close link between industry and science is reinforced even more. By hosting aero- space lectures at the university, Airbus actively parti- cipates in teaching, supports theses for bachelor‘s and master‘s degree candidates, and becomes an employer to quite a number of graduates. We are looking forward to many more years of joint research activities ahead!

AOK Bremen / Bremerhaven
It is already four years since the University of Bremen and AOK Bremen/Bremerhaven confirmed their wish to strengthen cooperation with a framework agreement. AOK Bremen/Bremerhaven backs the German Scholarship Programme for particularly talented and dedicated students and also supports the University of Bremen’s “Open Campus”. Moreover, the health insurance fund also aids research projects at the Institute for Public Health and Nursing Research Department 11 Health Sciences, including those examining how often and why nursing home residents are admitted to hospitals for emergency treatment. In another comparative study, patient-oriented laboratory tests are being examined to establish whether this can reduce the need for antibiotics for treating uncomplicated urinary tract infections. One project is addressing the quality of life of people who suffer from vertigo and another the teaching and complex therapy of obesity patients.

The University of Bremen is a leading European research university and an inspiring seat of learning. As a major employer in the state of Bremen, we have for many years been a committed cooperation partner of this important educational institution in various areas. We value not only the fact that the University of Bremen is a source of graduates in a range of fields relevant to our business, who we are glad to offer opportunities in our company. Equally, we value the technical expertise of the university‘s renowned research institutes. And we also appreciate that we can build networks, for example through the alumni association, with students, graduates, academic staff and other members of the supporting community. Dear University of Bremen, happy 50th birthday!

The University of Bremen and BSAG have been connected to each other in multiple ways for 50 years now. For half a century, top workers have been trained for the public transport company at the University of Bremen. Many graduates of the Bremen university can be found in various positions at the BSAG. The large breadth of the educational paths offered by the university enables this. Strong impulses that have an impact on the daily work of the BSAG – from technical developments to the further fostering of modern work relations – regularly come from this ‘area of innovation’. We enjoy transporting the students to the university. Congratulations and we hope you enjoy your ride with us!

The people in this building are not just bank clerks and economists anymore, but also experts in areas such as e-commerce and artificial intelligence. A very close relationship has developed between the Sparkasse Bremen, the University of Bremen and the Technology Park over the years and this bond is set to become even stronger in the future – and will bring benefits to all of us. We are looking forward to a phenomenal exchange.

And give international students and researchers a home. That‘s why. We send our warmest congratulations on the anniversary! We look forward to accompanying the University of Bremen on its way to becoming the leading European research institution. Of enquiring minds, excelling at “Jugend forscht”. Yes, ISB can tell many stories ...We congratulate and extend our thanks to you, Bremen University, for being a platform of inspiration for so many young people.

The Mercedes-Benz plant in Bremen would like to send its heartfelt congratulations to the University of Bremen on its 50th birthday. Established in an exciting political landscape in the 70s, the university has made important contributions to research, education, and societal developments in Bremen State over the past years. The University of Bremen is a valued, reliable, and innovative partner for us as a manufacturing site. Especially with regard to the current challenges faced in the fields of ecology, sustainability, and climate change as part of the transformation of the automotive industry, the university’s research and development are important incubators of new technologies and are thus irreplaceable for the economy. We, the Bremen plant, are happy to have such a university in “our” community and are thankful that many of our staff and leaders have been able to directly profit from the outstanding degree quality at your institution.
