Apprenticeship
The University of Bremen offers apprenticeships
In cooperation with the Aus- und Fortbildungszentrum of Bremen (AFZ), the University of Bremen trains great young people in various disciplines every year.
The AFZ manages the dual training for the city of Bremen in various fields of activity of the Bremen public service. Among other things, the AFZ uses the workshops and laboratories of the University of Bremen for practical training.

Fields in which we offer apprenticeship
The most important information at a glance
Variety: interesting, practice-oriented and diverse training in research-related areas.
Inclusion: already in the application process for training positions, the university is committed to the special needs of people with disabilities
Equal opportunities: especially in professions where women are underrepresented, the university tries to increase their number with appropriate measures
Diversity: we welcome all people - regardless of origin, religion, ideology, age, disability or sexual and gender identity
And a lot more: e.g. JobTicket for the public transport of VBN and BSAG, cheap food in the Mensa and cafeterias of the Studierendenwerks, access to Hochschulsport, the possibility to attend language courses at Sprachenzentrum
The monthly training allowance for trainees until December 31, 2021 is as follows
in the first year of training 1,036.82 euros
1,090.96 euros in the second year of training
1,140.61 euros in the third year of training
in the fourth year of training 1,209.51 euros
Trainees who are in a training relationship on December 1 are entitled to a special annual payment.
The weekly working time is 39.2 hours and you get 30 days of paid vacation per year.
A completed apprenticeship forms the basis for getting started in the working world.
At the University of Bremen, we do everything we can to give our trainees the best possible training in their chosen profession and to prepare them for their future tasks.
And who knows, perhaps their working life will continue at the university in the profession they have learned directly after the end of their training, because suitable trainees are gladly taken on if possible.
