Biology laboratory technician
In cooperation with natural scientists, engineers and technicians, the training of biology laboratory technicians at the University of Bremen is carried out by the Training Center for Laboratory Technicians.
Tasks include:
- Carrying out biochemical experiments
- Carrying out experiments in the field of genetic engineering
- Planning and documentation of the work using laboratory-specific EDP
- Analysis of experimental results
Requirements:

- Good academic performance in chemistry, biology, mathematics and English

Chemical laboratory technician
In cooperation with natural scientists, engineers and technicians, the training of chemical laboratory assistants at the University of Bremen is carried out by the Training Center for Laboratory Assistants.
Tasks include:
- Qualitative and quantitative analysis of substances and mixtures of substances using chemical, biological and physical analytical methods, also using complex computer-controlled analytical equipment.
- Carrying out biotechnological and cell culture work
- Preparation and characterization of inorganic and organic preparations.
Prerequisites:
- Interest in scientific issues
- Careful and exact way of working
- Good academic performance in chemistry, biology, mathematics and physics
- Pleasure in working with computers and technical equipment
- Pleasure in working with people
The training for this occupation lasts 3 years.
Microtechnologist
Microtechnologists work in production and in the research and development departments of companies and research institutions. They manufacture microtechnological products, such as computer chips or airbag sensors.
Tasks:
- Generation and photolithographic structuring of thin layers
- Lithographic deep etching
- Micro electroplating
- Packaging and interconnection technology
Requirements:
- Enjoyment of technical/craft activities
- Good school grades in physics and chemistry
- Careful way of working
