International Symposium "Translating Sea-Level Change in Urban Life: Policies, Practices and their Intersections in Island Southeast Asia" on May 28/29 2018 in Jakarta

In the context of the DFG-sponsored project "Epistemic Mobilities and the Governance of Environmental Risks in Island Southeast Asia" (EMERSA), the Sustainability Center is co-organizing an International Roundtable Symposium on May 28/29 2018 in Jakarta, Indonesia, Together with partners at ZMT Bremen, National University of Singapore, Universitas Indonesia (Jakarta), and University of Asia and the Pacific (Manila), the symposium ‘Translating Sea-Level Change in Urban Life’ aims to bring together researchers from the social sciences, the humanities and area studies with practitioners and policy-makers that work across a diverse range of themes relating to the lived and experiential aspects of (relative) sea-level change in Southeast Asia.

Abstracts for contributions to the symposium can be sent to Dr. JohannesHerbeck (herbeckprotect me ?!uni-bremenprotect me ?!.de) or Dr. Rapti Siriwardane (rsiprotect me ?!zmt-bremenprotect me ?!.de). The call is open until March 15.

Im Rahmen des DFG-Projektes "Epistemic Mobilities and the Governance of Environmental Risks in Island Southeast Asia" (EMERSA) ist das Forschungszentrum Nachhaltigkeit Mitveranstalter eines Symposiums unter dem Titel "Translating Sea-Level Change in Urban Life: Policies, Practices and their Intersections in Island Southeast Asia" Ende Mai in Jakarta. Zusammen mit den Projektpartnern am ZMT Bremen, der National University of Singapore, der Universitas Indonesia (Jakarta) und der University of Asia and the Pacific (Manila) soll das Symposium ForscherInnen aus den Geistes- und Sozialwissenschaften zusammenbringen mit Praktikern und EntscheidungsträgerInnen aus der Region, die zu Themen des Erlebens von und Umgangs mit Veränderungen des (relativen) Meeresspiegels arbeiten.
