The Equal Opportunities Office supports gender-equitable human resource development. We provide services such as trainings, workshops and mentoring programs geared to the specific needs of students, researchers and staff and which, in particular, encourage and back women to find their way into and within academia. One of our aims is to increase the proportion of women at all qualification and career levels in science and academia – on undergraduate and doctoral level as well as in the postdoc phase.
Our consulting, counseling and training services facilitate better networking among female students, female researchers and female staff and help to expand their individual scope for action and participation. The focus is on dealing professionally with gender-specific expectations, attributions and exclusions. One important component of our work is diversity-sensitive, discrimination-critical, process-oriented individual advice.
By participating in “audit familiengerechte hochschule”, the University of Bremen is actively working to create family-friendly study and working conditions, and to improve the level of compatibility with care tasks. You can find all projects and services on the Familienportal (in German only).
