Julie Thies graduated from High School (CJD Gymnasium, Versmold) in 2008 followed by an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk at the Sievert AG in Osnabrück. After completing her apprenticeship in 2011 she did an internship at the Bayoe Sievert Concrete Precast Elements Co, Ltd. in Hefei, China, before she started studying Business Administration at the University of Bremen in the same year. During her studies she did another internship at the quick-mix Holding GmbH & Co. KG in Osnabrück. She finished her Bachelor’s Degree in 2014 and continued with her master studies in Business Administration at the University of Bremen. In the time from 2014 to 2015 she also worked as a student research assistant at the Professorship of Empirical Economics and Applied Statistics at the University of Bremen. In 2015 she did an internship at the BDO AG in Bremen, where she afterwards started operating as a working student. During her studies Mrs. Thies also spent one semester abroad at the Udayana University in Bali (Indonesia). Julie Thies completed her Business studies in 2017 with achieving the academic degree Master of Science in Business Administration.
Operating as a tutor for the course “Accounting & Accounts” and as lecturer in “Practical Exercise to Accounting & Accounts” as well as in “Pre-Course to Accounting & Accounts” she already had the chance to gain many teaching experiences.
Since 2017 Julie Thies works as a researcher at the Chair of Accounting and Control at the University of Bremen and is doing her doctoral studies focusing on Accounting in Newly Industrialized countries, Empirical Accounting Research and Accounting Regulation.
