About me
After completing my M. Sc. in Hearing Technology and Audiology at the University of Oldenburg, I have been working as a doctoral researcher at the Cognitive Systems Lab in Bremen. Here, I can combine my fascination with perception and cognition with my interest in technical solutions that support independent living.
I am part of the Research Training Group HEARAZ ("Hearable-Centered Assistance: From Sensor to Participation") and work on Project K1 under the supervision of Prof. Schultz (University of Bremen) and Prof. Zieschang (University of Oldenburg). The goal of my project is analyzing spontaneous speech to assess cognitive resources. Early detection of neurocognitive disorders is particularly important for old adults and in medical contexts. Using speech as a biomarker provides a valuable extension to existing screening methods.
In particular, early detection of acute confusional state (known as delirium) is highly relevant in clinical settings regarding optimal recovery and treatment. With the DEESA project ("Differentiation of Delirium and Dementia based on Spontaneous Speech"), we aim to study speech patterns in delirium and distinguish them from those in dementia.
