He is also the Scientific Director of the Institute for Information Management Bremen (ifib), a not-for-profit research center at the University of Bremen (<a href="http://www.ifib.de/" target="_blank">www.ifib.de</a>). He is co-chair of the interdisciplinary Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research of the University of Bremen (<a href="http://www.zemki.uni-bremen.de/english/home.html" target="_blank">www.zemki.uni-bremen.de</a>). During his PhD in Applied Informatics in 1997 to 2000, he joined the Telecommunications Research Group where he worked as a senior research associate (2000-2004). 2002 he was Visiting Scholar at Columbia University (New York) and at the Center for Children and Technology. Andreas Breiter studied Sociology, Informatics und Law at the Goethe-University in Frankfurt/Main und at the University of Southampton (UK). For two years (1995-1997) he joined the Fraunhofer-Institute for Systems and Innovation Research in Karlsruhe. 2015-2020, he was Vice President for Research of the University of Bremen and since 2020, he is Chief Digital Officer. Andreas Breiter is also Member of the Executive Board of GUAT e.V.
