Ricarda Kochems completed her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2020 and her Master’s degree in Business Psychology in 2024 at the University of Bremen. Since October 2024, she has been a doctoral researcher at the Professorship in Empirical Economics and Applied Statistics at the University of Bremen. During her studies, she worked as a student research assistant and tutor at this professorship, where she developed expertise in statistics and econometrics.
Her research focuses on the interdisciplinary study of happiness and well-being, integrating perspectives from (organizational) psychology, economics, sociology, and political science. A central focus of her work is the question of how complex constructs such as happiness and well-being can be measured in a valid yet practically applicable way. For her interdisciplinary contributions to conceptual and methodological approaches in happiness and well-being research, she received two conference awards in 2025.
In teaching, she is involved in courses on data analysis. In addition, she aims to transfer scientific insights on happiness and well-being into practice. As a freelance certified coach, she designs and delivers workshops and keynote sessions for students and organisations.
