This year's Global Game Jam (GGJ) took place from 24-26 January 2025 at the University of Bremen in the PC lab of Faculty 3 and was organised by employees of our lab.
We had almost 70 participants in this worldwide hackathon. In 13 teams, they each created a game on the topic of ‘Bubble’. The winning game was ‘Duckslayer’ by The DuckDudes, second place went to ‘Bubble Fall’ by Team Sushi and third place was shared by ‘Soapy Spiral’ by Soapy Squad and ‘Burst the Bubble’ by Team FuckUnity.
Thanks to the pizza donation from Contact-Software and game vouchers from BeamNG, all of the participating jammers were motivated to keep up this hack marathon. And iGaming.com provided strong support with a budget for security (for overnight stay), T-shirts for the organisation team and drinks.
We are delighted that we were able to host this event in Bremen again. And a big thank you to our organisers and donors. And of course to all the participants! You are great!
