We welcome our new colleague: Shiyao Zhang (Izzie) started working as a research assistant in the Digital Media Lab in June 2025.

Izzie completed her Bachelor's and Master's degree in Computer Science at the University of Bremen. During her studies, she already worked in the Digital Media Lab as a student assistant and participated in several research projects in the field of biosignal analysis. Currently, Izzie is involved in the ABS project, which aims to investigate the attribution of Theory of Mind (ToM) in robots by externalizing their internal states in order to improve interaction between human and robots. Her scientific interest focuses on biosignal processing and artifact recognition in relation to multimodal integration of biosignals and affective data processing as well as human-robot interaction.
