The English-taught Master's programme in Sustainable Process Engineering at the University of Bremen prepares you for the challenges of a resource-efficient and climate-friendly industry. You will deepen your knowledge of process engineering fundamentals and learn to incorporate sustainability criteria into the development of process engineering production processes right from the start.

The programme combines a solid foundation in process engineering with state-of-the-art methods in circular economy, renewable energy sources, environmental process engineering, and process optimisation. The curriculum is supplemented by an industrial internship or project work; the Master's thesis can also be written in cooperation with companies.

Graduates are in demand in sectors such as the steel and automotive industries, aerospace, food production, and renowned research institutes (e.g., Fraunhofer IFAM, Leibniz IWT). The program also opens up the possibility of international study visits and offers excellent opportunities for an academic career or entry into industry.

The admission requirements for the master's program in Sustainable Process Engineering are:

• A first professionally qualifying university degree in process engineering or chemical engineering with at least 180 credit points (CP) according to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS).

• Proof of relevant subject-specific achievements totaling at least 24 CP in the areas of thermodynamics and fundamentals of process engineering such as fluid mechanics, reaction engineering, heat transfer, or mass transfer. This should be done by means of transcripts and explanations in a letter of motivation. In this letter, you should clearly and concisely outline your qualifications by explaining how you have fulfilled the above-mentioned subject-specific requirements based on the results listed in your transcript.

• Knowledge of the English language corresponding to at least level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Proof is also provided if applicants have obtained their university entrance qualification or their most recent university degree in English.

• Passing an online aptitude test on the above-mentioned topics. It consists of an online exam, to which you will be invited by email by the Student Secretariat after your registration, and a subsequent online technical interview, to which you will be invited separately if you have met the above requirements.
