Childcare during scientific events in Bremen

Our Offer

Uni KLEX 2 is aimed at organizers of conferences, workshops and other scientific events of the University of Bremen who wish to offer childcare on site. Caretaking for children of external guests as well as for members of the University of Bremen is possible and will take place at the venue in the Bremen area.

What does KLEX offer?

  • Help finding caregivers for childcare during scientific events of the University of Bremen.
  • The caregiver register contains students of the University of Bremen who have experience in caring for small children and have completed a first aid course.
  • The possibility of using rooms with equipment suitable for children on campus.
  • Rental of toy boxes for events on campus and in the Bremen area.
  • The cost for childcare are usually borne by the organising institution.

Procedure

The organisers fill in the online form for an enquiry to the caregiver register. The Equal Opportunities Office forwards the enquiry to students and suggests caregivers. The organisers will contact the students. After the event, the caregivers hand in the KLEX invoice form to the organisers.

Please note: The Equal Opportunities Office cannot guarantee a caregiver service, as this depends on the availability of the students. It is important that you contact the caregiver register well in advance and that the caregivers will be paid for at least three hours.

Conditions

  • The organisers are responsible for billing.
  • One caregiver may care for a maximum of three children at the same time.
  • At least two caregivers must be employed at the same time.

FAQ

The programme addresses scientific institutions of the University of Bremen who can receive support in organising childcare during their scientific events.

Uni KLEX offers help finding caregivers via the caregiver register, which contains students of the University of Bremen who have experience in caring for small children and have completed a first aid course. Your enquiry will be forwarded to the students and you will receive profiles of available caregivers, whom you can contact yourself.

We recommend to take childcare into account already in the planning stage of an event. You should make your request as early as possible (no later than three weeks in advance) in order to find available caregivers.

The caregivers fill in the KLEX invoice form, which is submitted to and handled by the organising institution.
