a) Support of an accompanying caregiver
The offer is subject to the Bremen Travel Expenses Act and is therefore aimed exclusively at female scientists with children who are breastfed and have not yet reached the age of two (https://www.uni-bremen.de/de/intern/personal/dienstreisen/recht-gesetz-formulare/familie-und-beruf/). Before applying for support, you should check whether funds are available at your institution for this purpose. In addition, the relevance of the business trip for further scientific qualification must be proven. The amount of the subsidy depends on the travel costs incurred. The caregiver can be a family member of the scientist. As a general rule, each enquiry is examined individually.
b) Support of a caregiver at home
The offer is aimed at parents whose children stay at home during a business trip and who need childcare support during off-peak hours. This can be done by a private caregiver or a person from the caregiver register. The amount of the subsidy depends on the duration of the trip. Support by family members cannot be subsidised.
