Studying abroad

Preparation time for a study abroad can last about 9 until 15 months and includes the following aspects:

  • The deadline to apply is 15.02.

  • The application is an online application via the portal Mobility online. A link to the application platform and instructions can be found on the page of the International Office. You have to submit the application documents to the Erasmus representative at Faculty 1.

  • You will coordinate the Learning Agreement with the Erasmus representative, which documents the courses to be taken abroad.

  • The credits actually earned will be listed on a Transcript of Records issued to you by the host university.

  • There are various funding options for financing the stay abroad: Erasmus+ (study abroad in Europe) or PROMOS.

When is the right time?

  • Studying abroad is possible after the 3rd semester of the bachelor program. You have to prepare and plan this already during your first semesters. We recommend the 5th or 6th semester for a stay abroad, i.e. for writing your bachelor's thesis.

  • When elected study courses are to be deepened, we recommend going abroad during the master. At that time, you have a good overview about your specialised courses and you can select your host university to your own requirements.
