The Everything Formula

The Everything Formula, aka Tupper's  self-referential formula, provides a rule with which any bounded black-and-white pixel image can be generated by suitable choice of parameters. In particular, Tupper's formula can reproduce an image of itself. This project aims at developing a generalization of Tupper's formula that produces colored images.

Basic knowledge in the fields of analysis (calculus 1 & 2) and linear algebra as well as some knowledge in programming are recommended. The duration of the project work within the working group should be at least four weeks. In addition, a final written as well as oral presentation in the seminar will be expected. For more information and conditions please refer to the Module and Course Catalog (German) of the department.

The research report can be found here (in German).
