A program featuring the very latest films on the current state of the world takes a look at the decisions made in the past that shape our present, as well as the decisions being made today and their impact on the future. The film selection addresses highly topical issues, crises, and dystopias, and—through explorations of fragility, feminism, and resistance—develops new perspectives on the familiar and surprising insights into what connects us all. In a veritable fireworks display of ideas and images, these essayistic films paint a portrait of our fragile present while also addressing the role of art. Footage of a paradisical-seeming beach club in Peru, a chain carousel in a decommissioned nuclear reactor, fluorescent insects, and the cramped confines of a British changing room are stops along the way in this highly entertaining reflection on our present.
