Individual funding: European Research Council (ERC) and Marie Sklodowska-Curie Individual Fellowships (MSCA-PF)

Individual funding in Horizon Europe comprises:

 

1.  the renowned ERC grants, offering different opportunities for different career levels. Open ERC calls can be found in the funding & tenders portal.
The indicative dates for calls under the new Framework Programme Horizon Europe are announced by the ERC so far as follows. The prerequisite is that Horizon Europe starts on January 1, 2021 as planned.

2.  Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships (PF), eligible for experienced researchers (in possession of a PhD at the call deadline) with up to 8 years research experience after PhD . Open MSCA calls can be found in the funding & tenders portal.

European Fellowship (EF) 
  • Research stay in Europe
  • Postdoctoral researchers with up to 8 years of full-time postdoctoral research experience, of any nationality)
  • 12 to 24 months in a Member State or Associated Country (+ optional: 6 months in the non-academic sector in Europe)
 
Global Fellowship (GF) 
  • Research stay in a Third Country and return period
  • Postdoctoral researchers with up to 8 years of full-time postdoctoral research experience of a Member or Associated State or who have undergone a long-term research stay (>= 5 years without a break) in Europe
  • 24 to 36 months in third country including a mandatory 12-month reintegration period back to the Member State or Associated Country after the completion of the outgoing stay (+ optional: 6 months in the non-academic sector in Europe)

Financial support is provided in the form of allowances covering living, mobility and, if applicable, family costs. The host institutions receive fixed amounts for their administrative and indirect costs. :
