Teaching profile and core teaching areas

The department offers teaching within all disciplinary areas relevant to the thematic area of Global Supply Chain Management, although most notably and prominently within the disciplinary area of logistics. From this point of view the teaching can be expected to be delivered within the following areas:

  • Advanced Bachelor level and diploma courses on global supply chain operations
  • Advanced Master level courses on global supply chain operations
  • Advanced Bachelor and Master level courses in information systems and decision support for supply chain management
  • Foundational and Advanced courses in International logistics, shipping and transport
  • Foundational courses within the area of transportation management and economics
  • Foundational courses on production, sourcing and distribution/warehousing management
  • Foundational Bachelor and master level courses in operations and supply chain management
  • Phd courses in logistics and supply chain management

Main pedagogical principles and ambitions

The department brings in a high level of interaction, motivation and engagement with the society. The professorship views continuous improvement and life-long learning as integral to the development of its pedagogy, courses and programs. We envisage module and course responsibilities to not only undertake the usual teaching, coordination and examination tasks, but also to integrate practice (companies) into the courses. Some of the main pedagogical principles that are actively employed in the teaching:
