2nd round of the women's mentoring programme of the women's representation of FB 7 successfully completed

On 31 January 2020, the Women's Mentoring Programme of the Women's Representation of the Faculty 7 – Business Studies and Economics was successfully completed for the second time. In this programme, which the Women's Representation started two years ago, female Master students are brought together with successful women from business and science in the form of a mentee-mentorin duo, and the female students are personally accompanied for one year before starting their careers. The matching of the mentee with the appropriate mentor depends on the students' fields of study and professional interests. The aim of the program is to support female Master's students in their career orientation and entry into the profession. The program is accompanied by a coaching service, which is also geared to the needs of both mentees and mentors. In the last round, for example, workshops on self-presentation and communication as well as women in management were completed.

The early promotion of female students is a major concern of the women's representation, because especially in the field of business studies and economics the number of women in science as well as in leading positions in business is significantly lower than the number of men.

Mariia Shkolnykova and Jarina Kühn, research assistants from the research group Innovation and Structural Economics, and Theresa Kück, research assistant from the research group Financial Services and Financial Technology, accompanied the programme.

Applications for the next round are still possible for female Master's students of the Department of Economics (or cooperative courses) in the 1st or 2nd semester until 29.02.2020. We are looking forward to your application! Please send a short letter of motivation stating your major fields of study to fraufb7protect me ?!uni-bremenprotect me ?!.de
