In the context of the project Mod-Block-DDR, the Bremen team of professor and project-spokeswoman Jutta Günther, in cooperation with the Forum of Contemporary History Leipzig (Zeitgeschichtlichen Forum Leipzig) and the Central German Broadcasting Corporation (Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk), is organizing a unique online discussion round with contemporary witnesses of German unification history and experts on economic and monetary union:

• Dr. Johannes Ludewig (former Federal Chancellery and Coordinator "New Länder")
• Christa Luft (former Minister of Economics of the GDR in the Modrow government)
• Prof. Dr. Udo Ludwig (Leibniz Institute for Economic Research Halle, former advisor to the German government)
• Prof. Dr. Rudolf Hickel (former financial economist at the University of Bremen).

The debate will be moderated by journalist Ine Dippmann on October 22, 2020 (7:00 - 8:30 p.m.) and will focus on the past, present and future of the New Federal States. Interested parties are warmly welcome!
