Participation in international hydrogen expo

On October 20th and 21th, 2021, the Chair of Economics of Innovation and Structural Change exhibited at the Hydrogen Technology Expo Europe (https://messe-bremen.de/en/event/hydrogen-technology-conferences-expo/) at Messe Bremen. Other exhibitors included companies and research institutes covering the hydrogen value change.

Susanna Bolz, Tobias Wendler und Julian Thiele together with the working group “Resilient Energy Systems” (https://www.uni-bremen.de/en/res/) presented their hydrogen projects H2B (https://www.uni-bremen.de/en/res/research/h2b) and hyTracks (https://www.uni-bremen.de/en/res/research/hytracks).

Visitors could inform themselves about the projects, discuss hydrogen topics and participate in a survey regarding chances of a hydrogen economy. The focus was on current hydrogen technologies as well as challenges and opportunities of developing a hydrogen economy in Bremen and the surrounding region.

On the second day of the exhibition there was a meeting with a delegation from the region of Wielkopolska in Poland, where a hydrogen economy shall be established (https://h2wielkopolska.pl/en/homepage-2/). Economic and political delegates from the region gathered information about experiences from Bremen. Furthermore, the differing regional perspectives as well as possibilites of further cooperation were explored.
