This doctoral project investigates the effects of a near-ear assistive system (“hearable”) on the social and cognitive health of people with care and support needs. The study focuses on acceptance, intensity of use, and their association with psychosocial outcomes such as quality of life, autonomy, and social participation. Furthermore, potential effects on the burden of formal and informal caregivers are examined. The aim is to generate evidence-based insights for the further development of networked assistive technologies in nursing care contexts.
