Description
The aim of ViBe-care is to test the suitability of a video-based care assessment and to identify the prerequisites for regular implementation in the outpatient and inpatient sector. Both the reliability and the basic acceptance of video-based care assessments from the perspective of all stakeholders involved will be analysed in comparison to face-to-face assessments.
The study utilises a convergent, parallel mixed-methods design. In the study, a controlled, prospective trial of ViBe-care is carried out on a consecutive sample of applicants for outpatient and inpatient long-term care insurance benefits. To this end, the care experts from the participating expert services carry out a ViBe-care assessment in addition to the regular care assessment on site (on-site assessment).
The advantages and disadvantages, the time required and the resulting cost implications are determined as part of ViBe-care. Finally, the technical, regulatory, structural and procedural requirements that must be met for the regular use of video-based assessment by the expert services are identified so that video-based assessment can be adequately implemented in the assessment practice of the expert services.
