Description
The midwife centres were implemented by the state of Bremen as a new care concept in underserved districts. There are currently three midwife centres in Bremen, with more planned. The midwife centres aim to provide low-threshold care with midwife services for pregnant women or women after birth. As part of the ‘Healthy City of Bremen’ research cluster, an evaluation concept for the midwifery centres is being developed and the midwifery centres are being evaluated in this doctoral project. The aim of the evaluation is to identify favourable and unfavourable factors in the implementation and care process. There is also a thematic focus on women's access to the midwifery centre. The evaluation is based on a mixed-methods design and examines the views of professionals and users of the midwifery centres. The qualitative evaluation methods include guided interviews, expert interviews and focus groups. As part of the quantitative evaluation methods, care data from the midwifery centres is analysed and a questionnaire is generated for the users.
