The RTC interview study is part of the research network “Physical Activity, Equity and Health: Primary Prevention for Healthy Ageing (AEQUIPA)”. AEQUIPA is a prevention research network in the Bremen-Oldenburg metropolitan region. The core topic of the network is physical activity as an essential component of healthy ageing, with a particular focus on equal health opportunities. AEQUIPA aims to strengthen the knowledge base for healthy ageing and to gain new insights into environmental, social, contextual and individual conditions for increasing physical activity in the 65+ age group. The aim of the planned interviews is to investigate the background for participation or non-participation in exercise programs, such as the “Fit in the Northwest” exercise program. On the basis of the interview results, indications are to be gained as to how future offers to promote physical activity for this age group should be designed in order to attract many people to participate.
