WHO webinar on Environmental Health Inequalities

Organizer : WHO
Location : Virtual
Start Time : 11. December 2023, 10:00
End Time : 11. December 2023, 11:30

Prof. Dr. Gabriele Bolte, Dr. Stefanie Dreger und Pia Hasselder from the WHO Collaborating Centre for Environmental Health Inequalities at the Institute of Public Health and Nursing Research present new results of the monitoring of health-relevant environmental health inequalities.

Environmental conditions are a major determinant of health and well-being, but they are not the same for everyone everywhere. Inequalities in environmental risk are interlinked with almost all environmental challenges, including exposure to air pollution, noise, inadequate housing, energy and water supply, climate change or lack of access to nature.

On the occasion of Human Rights Day, this webinar will provide an introduction into the environment as a human right, present data on urban environmental health inequalities in Europe, and review the coverage of environmental equity aspects in national action on sustainable development.
