Alessandro Belmonte, Assistant Professor in Economics at the University of Urbino (Italy), was invited by Michael Rochlitz to the IERP Economic Colloquium. Alessandro presented his paper "State Building Through Foreign Military Interventions: Evidence from Mali".

Michael and Alessandro studied together in IMT School for Advanced Studies Lucca and co-authored two papers on politics of collective memories.
