A new issue of Russian Politics on siloviki and Vladimir Putin

A symposium on Vladimir Putin and the Russian security services (the siloviki), edited by Michael Rochlitz, has just come out in a new issue of Russian Politics. Sharon and David Rivera investigate whether the worldview of Russian security agencies has changed after Vladimir Putin's return to the presidency in 2012, while Anton Aisin and Andrei Yakovlev examine how the interaction between the siloviki and regional governors affects economic growth in Russian regions. In their turn, Michael Rochlitz and Nikolay Petrov compare Putin's strategy towards the siloviki with how Xi Jinping handles the Chinese security services, in view of potential leadership succession.
