Ekaterina Vorobeva participated in the Sixth Annual Tartu Conference on Russian and East European Studies that took place in Tartu, Estonia, on June 12-14, 2022. Organized by the Centre for Eurasian and Russian Studies at the University of Tartu, the conference is a platform for academic debates on the past, present and future of post-Soviet space. Ekaterina made her presentation in the panel “Marketisation, public sector reform and the (im)morality of informality”. As the main theme of the conference was “Which Way is the Future? Progress and Tradition in Eastern Europe and Eurasia”, Ekaterina’s presentation titled “Migrant Entrepreneurship and Future of Diaspora: The Case of Central Asian Migrants in Russia” explored possible future trajectories of Central Asian diasporas in Russia.
