Working paper "Artificial Intelligence, Surveillance, and Big Data"

A paper on the interrelation between authoritarian surveillance, big data, and innovation in artificial intelligence written by David Karpa, Michael Rochlitz and Torben Klarl has just come out as an arXiv working paper. The paper is part of the project "Information, Digitalization, and Authoritarian Political Systems" and is the first, conceptual paper in a series of articles on the potential advantages authoritarian states might have when using data gained through digital surveillance for research and innovation in AI.
