Dean

“For each beginning bears a special magic”: the upcoming election term 2023/25 will be marked, above all, by the move of the Faculty of Law to the city centre as well as the introduction of the new study programme State Examination with integrated Bachelor. Both events are planned for the winter semester 2024/25 but are likely to occupy us for some time before and after this. It will not all run smoothly, but I am looking forward to the new opportunities these changes will bring for all of us. Policymakers want us to bring life to the city centre: so, let’s rock it! We welcome your ideas, suggestions and criticism.

Prodekan

With effect from 1 October 2023, I have been elected Vice Dean. The focus of my work will be on standing in for the dean and supporting him in his multiple tasks aptly described above. In addition to this, I actively and independently participate in Deans meetings.

Dean of Studies

As Dean of Studies I will be responsible for teaching at the faculty from October 2023. I see myself as an advocate for the students with the aim of optimising the range of courses, study conditions and examination modalities. The focus will be on the introduction of the new Bachelor programme as well as the move to the city centre. As Faculty Officer for Erasmus, it is important to me to motivate students to opt for English-language courses, the area of specialisation Transnational Law or studying abroad at one of our many partner universities. Lastly, as Dean of Studies, I chair the Study Commission and work closely with the Study Centre, which also supports me in my tasks.
