PAX Moot Team of the University of Bremen Invited to the Oral Hearings in Sofia

This year, the University of Bremen is participating in the PAX Moot for the second time and has once again made it to the oral phase of the competition.

The PAX Moot is a student competition in the form of a simulated court hearing, in which universities from all over Europe compete against each other. The case focuses on issues related to the EU rules on private international law and international civil procedural law.

The competition consists of two phases. In the first phase, student teams—usually comprising four students—prepare written memoranda on a fictitious case. The teams that submit the best memoranda are invited to the oral part of the competition. These oral hearings are held every year in a different European city. After a team of the University of Bremen under the guidance of Dr Nicholas Mouttotos was already invited to the competition in Maastricht last year, the students from Bremen now have the opportunity to demonstrate their skills in Sofia this year. Under the renewed guidance of Dr Nicholas Mouttotos, the students Claribel Mamani Torrez, Marie Theresa Schmid, Judith Zellmer, and Mähriban Aydogdyyeva will represent the Faculty of Law at the University of Bremen in this year’s competition.
