School Labs
Experimentation and research spark curiosity in children and teenagers and foster an interest in science. In the day-to-day school routine, there are sometimes not enough opportunities for this. That is why student labs, as extracurricular learning spaces, are in high demand. The University of Bremen and Bremen’s research institutions offer a wide variety of these labs for all grade levels.
Notice: All events are in German.

Biology
School Laboratory of Biology Didactics
Practical experience with molecular biology methods is rarely available in schools. In the biology education teaching and learning laboratory, therefore, the focus is on independent experimentation.

Chemistry
Frei-Ex
The “Free Experimentation” project at the Center for Environmental Research and Sustainable Technology (UFT) offers exciting chemistry experiments. The topics are linked to the school curriculum.
Student Chemistry Lab
In the student chemistry lab, students can conduct their own experiments in a modern, open-concept lab under the guidance of science instructors.

Geo- & Climate Sciences
MARUM UNISchool Lab
At the MARUM UNISchool Lab, students can experience geoscience research firsthand. In addition to courses on selected topics, joint project weeks and collaborative projects can also be organized. The topics are adapted to the level of each grade and brought to life through hands-on experiments!

Mathematics
matelier
Through games and puzzles, the Matelier shows students that math doesn’t always have to be hard work - it can actually be a lot of fun. In addition to the “Research Days,” students can also experience the Matelier firsthand at their own school through “Matelier unterwegs” (Matelier on-the-go).

Physics
Student Physics Lab
In the student laboratory of the Physics Practical Course, high school classes - particularly advanced courses - can conduct experiments on more than 70 topics under expert guidance, either to reinforce what they have already learned or as part of project days.

Aviation & Aerospace
ZARM-MarsBox
Pack your box—today we’re off to Mars! Under this motto, the "MarsBox" school lab at ZARM offers experiments exploring various aspects of our neighboring planet. The program is designed for children aged 8 to 12.
DLR_School_Lab
At the DLR_School_Lab Bremen, students can learn about DLR’s current research projects through exciting hands-on experiments and gain fascinating insights into the world of science and technology.

General Studies
ISSU-Workspace
The ISSU Workspace is designed for groups of children and school classes. With the assistance of students majoring in “Interdisciplinary General Studies,” interested educators and teachers can visit the ISSU Workspace with their learning groups and work on a variety of topics.
